LIVE JOURNAL ISN’T LIFE!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, people, this web site is for posting about the things that are important in your life, or just having fun with RPs and fanfic, which means that you are free to post whatever the hell you want, within the rules of the web site, but don’t get bent out of shape when someone posts something you happen to disagree with. It’s their opinion and they’re entitled to it. Freedom of speech is one of the greatest things about this country. And, yes, this includes someone posting mean things about you! Either they’re posting it because it’s true and you deserve it (though I personally think there are very few things that deserve a public bashing), or it’s made-up bullshit, in which case just ignore it or, better yet, laugh at it (nothing pisses off someone who’s trying to piss you off more than laughing at their pathetic attempts). If you’re concerned about other people reading and believing it, just remember that anyone who is really your friend won’t take it at face value – if they do, they’re not your friend. As far as RPs go, people can write fandom characters any way they want. No, they don’t own the characters but neither do you. Deal with it. If you don’t like the way they’re writing your favorite character, here’s a wacky idea: DON’T READ THEIR POSTS! Crazy, I know. If you feel the need to personally attack a writer in public for the way they write a certain fictional character, do yourself a favor: Turn off the computer, go outside and look at the world around you. Or just turn on the evening news. The world is full of amazing, wonderful, devastating and horrific real things that occur everyday. I swear if the energy that people on this site and sites likes it use to bitch and moan about fictional fucking characters was put into fighting disease or taking our politicians to task, we could affect some serious change in this country. But I guess the question of whether or not Batman and Robin are into teh happy butt sex is much more important. OK, end of rant. This will be cross-posted, so you may see it several times
